Marcos and Vinny also getting some.
Just a little tidbit for any and all out there looking to get into some extracurricular activities, riding a bike is awesome and a lot harder than you think. Also come to gymnastics with me Monday if you want. 🙂
I was asked to go on a nice bike ride to Redondo Beach yesterday and me thinking it would be easy, which is the cardinal mistake when approaching a WOD, it was really freaking hard! It was by far the farthest I have ever ridden on a bike (30Miles) and it was cool because riding a bike is not one of my forte’s and especially at that kind of distance.
It was all so new and challenging and it made me a little angry when this old tiny dude went flying by me like I was going 65 in the fastlane he was going 100 in the carpool. And to be honest I did not think I was going to make it back, but I did, and in time to coach the 5:30pm.
What I learned from it all is that I need to work on my long distance cycling. And one side note, the fact that I crossfit so much is what allowed me to have the CAPACITY to bike that kind of distance and still be able to want to do today’s WOD.
What I am getting at is that you need to switch it up, weather it be long distance bike/swim/run or heading to the gymnastics gym next Monday with yours truly to learn how to cartwheel/back-flip/handstand walk in a very controlled environment with soft floors. Let me know if you want to go. 🙂
