Talent and Skill

Talent and skill. What’s the difference?
I watched the video I posted below, and in it Will Smith talks about talent and skill. He says talent you have naturally, but skill comes from hours and hours of banging on your craft.
My favorite line:
“I’ve never really viewed myself as particularly talented. Where I excel is, rrrrrediculous, sssssickening, work ethic. The only thing distinctly different about me, is:

I’m not afraid to die on a treadmill.

You might be more talented than me. You might be smarter than me. But one of 2 things is gonna happen: You’re gonna get off the treadmill, or I’m gonna die. It’s really that simple.”
I love that! Will Smith doesn’t pretend that he will always come out on top, or that he’s invincible. He just won’t give in or take anything lying down. He just knows if it’s something he really wants, he’ll die trying.
We all know we can’t always be the most talented, the best, or victorious, but we can be the guy (and girl) who won’t back down.
You have to watch the video it’s a shot in the vein if you’ve been dragging lately. Will Smith is clearly a humble tirelessly driven guy. Watch it before you come workout and you’ll have the sudden urge to do burpees, save the world or something productive.
BTW Kudos to Blake for beating me today in the squats. Awesome job man! (won’t happen again 😉 )
He also lost 10lbs since he started. You’re doing great man.
